AUDIENCES' UNSUNG HEROES INVITATION

Audiences attending the forthcoming Unsung Heroes UK tour by the Bands of the Royal Air Force will be invited to sign a special Book of Remembrance for their friends, family and comrades who served in the RAF.
The Unsung Heroes book will be available to sign at all 13 concert venues around the UK. At the end of the concert tour, the Book of Remembrance will be kept at St Clement Danes Church in London, the spiritual home of the Royal Air Force.
Concert Organiser Philippa Hayday-Brown said: "We hope the programme of music will provide the audience with an opportunity for reflection. We felt a special Book of Remembrance would be a fitting extension of the concert, enabling audience members to record the names of those who have made a significant impression on their lives and in whose eyes they are 'heroes'. We're delighted that St Clement Danes has agreed to provide a home for the book after the concert tour."
St Clement Danes Resident Chaplain, The Reverend David Osborn, said: "We have many thousands of visitors to the RAF church; some come out of curiosity but quite a few come on pilgrimage to see the name of their loved in the Books of Remembrance that we hold here."
The 13-venue tour, held in support of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, begins in Birmingham on October 26.
Compering duties on the tour will be split between BBC Radio 2 broadcasters Alan Dedicoat, Ken Bruce, Lynn Bowles and Dad's Army actor Ian Lavender (check venue for details). The concert will be conducted by Wing Commander Duncan Stubbs, the RAF's Principal Director of Music, and will feature soloists Flight Lieutenant Matthew Little and Joanne Pullen.
Each concert will feature one of the main RAF Bands: The Central Band of the Royal Air Force, the Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment, or the Band of the Royal Air Force College, augmented by the big band sound of either the Squadronaires or Swing Wing.
