2012 RAF Cathedral Concerts – An Announcement
It is with great regret that we have to announce the cancellation of three cathedral concerts performed by the Bands of the Royal Air Force scheduled to take place in April 2012.
The concerts were due to be held at Gloucester (April 12), Winchester (April 19) and Ely (April 25) cathedrals next spring.
Chief Executive Tim Prince said: "It wasn't an easy decision to make but after much deliberation we felt that in light of the current economic climate, the company should instead focus all its efforts on staging the main 'Diamond Jubilee' national RAF in Concert Tour later in the year. Tickets are not yet on sale however the dates have been advertised and we apologise if this decision has caused our supporters any disappointment."
The series of spring cathedral concerts was launched in 2010 in response to the success of the main autumn/winter tour. Both tours are staged in support of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.
