Aircrew Cadet Jeremy Taylor has been awarded the 2008 Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Trophy for Flying Excellence.
He was presented with the trophy by the Chairman of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, Air Chief Marshal Sir John Cheshire, during the recent Royal Air Force In Concert performance at the Cadogan Hall in London.
The trophy, which recognises flying excellence, is awarded annually to the top performing Air Cadet. Jeremy completed the 12-hour flying scholarship course last year whilst an Air Cadet with 99 Folkestone Squadron. Earlier this year he joined the Royal Air Force and is currently based at RAF Cranwell.
Wg Cdr Mike Douglass (Wg Cdr Flying), HQ Air Cadets said: "During the course he displayed a talent for flying as well as an infectious enthusiasm towards any task asked of him. Jeremy showed good leadership qualities when interacting with fellow cadets making him a popular member of the course.
"He is a worthy winner of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Trophy of Flying Excellence."
Jeremy, who would like to train to be a helicopter pilot, said: "I am very pleased and surprised to have been given this award – it's a stunning trophy."
