TRUST FUNDS FURTHER SIX SIMULATORS

THE Royal Air Force Charitable Trust has agreed to pay for a further six flight simulators and radio equipment for Air Cadet Regional Activity Centres across the UK.
The new grant of £73,000 brings to £146,000 the amount awarded by the Charitable Trust to fund simulators and radio equipment in all of the Regional Activity Centres around the country.
The first centre was opened by Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sir Glenn Torpy at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, in February last year. Since then, four other centres have opened at RAF Leuchars, RAF Aldergrove, RAF Cranwell and Altcar Training Camp. Other centres at DCAE Cosford, RAFSU Boscombe Down and RAF Halton should be completed this year and further sites are being considered.
Chris Murray, Secretary of the Charitable Trust, said: "The Trustees recognise the role of the Regional Activity Centres in Air Cadet training and are delighted to be able to fund a further six state-of-the-art flight simulators. They very much hope the equipment inspires Air Cadets to become the next generation of aerospace professionals."
The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust is the parent charity of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises, which organises the Royal International Air Tattoo.
During the past three years, the Charitable Trust - a major sponsor of Air Cadet Magazine - has supported Air Cadet projects and initiatives to the tune of £300,000. These include funding expeditions organised through the Ulysses Trust, flying scholarships and training equipment.
