About the Air Tattoo
Held annually each July at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire, the Royal International Air Tattoo, the world's largest military airshow, has gained the well-earned reputation as one of the UK's top outdoor family events
This year's highlights included:
- FREE admission for under 16s and FREE car parking
- The world's most advanced jet fighter the USAF F22A Raptor taking to the skies
- A stirring tribute to Britain's 'finest hour' as aircraft icons of the past met their modern counterparts in a breathtaking display to mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain
- The daredevil flying of the world's leading aerobatic teams including the UK's very own RAF Red Arrows
- The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet catapulting into the skies. The gladiator of the US Navy delighted visitors.
- Two of the last flying Messerschmitt Bf109s participating in a stirring Battle of Britain anniversary tribute
- Over two miles of static aircraft, interactive activities and ground exhibitions
- The Bloodhound SCC model – a jet propelled vehicle set to challenge the world land speed record
