Subject: Updates

Please Moley can we have some updated odds?! I'm disappointed by the cancellation of the MiG 21's, but was pleased to see a flying F-15 added which would be a more agile display anyway, even if not as rare. I think we need to see a B1B Lancer to replace the Mig 21 "Lancer" (not a Mitsubishi Lancer). I'm sure everyone would be delighted to see a more modern MiG or Sukhoi jet added as well. How about the MiG 29 OVT... I'm sure the Russians would love to at least try to outshine the Raptor?! (Also why is James May only on Sunday!!)

Although it saddens me to say it, I have to agree with Mike, one of the worst line ups ever at Fairford. I know that the team work very hard to get the participants and we are all very grateful, but surely there are a few early arrivals from Farnborough they could persuade to make up the numbers? Fairford without a B-1b, I never thought I would see the day.

Hi think the lineup is great.we got the mig-21(not many of them left flying),f-22,and the us with the mc-130,boeing f-18 display and dont forget all the ww2 planes who will take part in the sky.I love it.i only hope for the B-1 now:)i have never seen it in the sky.

As I mentioned previously the show is shaping up nicely but whats happened to the regular updates? It would be nice if you could get a couple more fast jets i.e F-18 Hornet, F-15 Eagle to complete the lineup - I remember last year we had three seperate F-18 Hornet displays and it was great to see - Hoping for the same again this year - Less than 6 weeks to go, I can't wait...

It's getting there...shaping up nicely. Delighted to have the Raptors, I'm praying for sun now! Also the gripen I'm really pleased to see finally added as I was wondering about that. It'a good mix of the modern jets. And great to see an L39 & MiG21 flying too, & some F5's for a little bit of variety.... Good stuff! All it needs now is a Rafale, & something like a Sukhoi 35 or MiG 29. That'd be an absolute heck of a show! (And hopefully the Vulcan will be flying too) I'm sensing firweworks already, battle of britain re-enactments, RAF role demo... Here's hoping!!

So, we've got the first official participation list and there's some really cool stuff on it already (F-22 will wow the crowd, no doubt about that). I'm also really looking forward to seeing the Romanian Mig-21 in the air. If we could only persuade the Russians Air Force to send us something very loud and pointy (prefereably starting with the initials "SU")..... oh well, we all live in hope. I reckon this year could be a real bumper one, the way it's looking, even in these early days. Many thanks to all the RIAT staff - your sterling efforts ARE appreciated by the airshow-going public. PS: I have a suggestion to improve the pedestrian queues on the airshow days. For the last few years I have patiently stood in the Red Car Park queue, only to see hundreds of people "queue-jump" by simply joining up with the middle of the line when they reach the gated, pedestrian exit on the sides of the parking field (the gate leading directly on to the pavement, which runs along the perimeter road). This is VERY unreasonable, considering that all members of the original queue went to the trouble of getting to Fairford early enough and patiently waiting their turn in the queue. Could there not be stewards placed at the gated field exits, to discourage this practice ? It would only be fair to everyone involved. Be reasonable, folks.... get there much earlier or join the proper end of the queue! Everyong hates queueing but this just isn't on. What does anyone else think?

This is fantastic news!!! I did get to see the F-22 doing its thing on the Friday before the show in 2008, but to see them with a full (and undoubtedly very appreciative) crowd in 2010 will be even better!! Many thanks to the RIAT organisers for sorting this out for this year. I reckon the Raptor dispaly will be the absolute highlight of the show. It can pull some maneouvers that only the MIG-29 OVT from the RIAT of a few years ago could match. I say, roll on mid-July!! I can't wait.

Bet on the F-22 showing up that would be cool, it came but the rain washed it away, crowds came for the Vulcan, so to shall they if the F-22 came, what about outside bet, on the Blue Angels coming to the Uk for once, maybe one year. A380 do a fly by, that be good as well, not as much a bet just like to see one, then again i can go to LHR & do that.

I put good money on the Reds, Typhoon and Super Hornet Would quite like to see Marche Verte F22 and SU35 are obvioulsy the dream and would be undoubtebly the stars of the show and although I am being outwardly optimistic about their appearance inside, deep down I have my doubts!!

Please note that this e-mail is written in jest only and is definitley NOTintended to be malicious. We'll all be there, come rain, shine, plague of locusts, whatever..... If the F-22 turns up this year, it will be a huge crowd-pleaser (hint, hint).
