AIR TATTOO TICKET SURGE REPORTED

AIR TATTOO TICKET SURGE REPORTED

People planning to attend next summer's Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford have already snapped up thousands of specially-discounted tickets, organisers have revealed.

Almost 5,000 tickets for the event have already been sold, a 300 per cent increase in sales compared to the same point last year. Air Tattoo Chief Executive Tim Prince said the surge in ticket sales was a reflection of the current economic climate.

He said: "People still want to enjoy quality days out with their families but they are increasingly looking for value. We all need to make our money go further which is why I'm delighted that so many people have taken advantage of our fantastic deal. There aren't many major outdoor events in the UK that offer families with children aged under 16, the opportunity to enjoy a memorable day out for less than £60."

Next July will see the Air Tattoo join with the RAF to stage a series of aerial and ground-based tributes to Her Majesty the Queen on her Diamond Jubilee.

A number of countries including Brazil, Hungary, France and Latvia have already confirmed their participation in the airshow and a rare Polish Mil-14 helicopter will be making its first appearance in the UK.
