EUROFIGHTER PROVIDES ICING ON AIR TATTOO CAKE

International aerospace company Eurofighter, which co-ordinates the design, production and upgrade of the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft, is one of the major supporters behind this summer's celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the Royal International Air Tattoo.

The company, which has enjoyed strong links with the airshow for almost 20 years, is made up of the major aerospace companies of the four Eurofighter partner nations: Alenia Aeronautica (Italy), BAE Systems (UK), EADS CASA (Spain), EADS Deutschland (Germany)

A spokesman for Eurofighter said the company was proud to support the Royal International Air Tattoo's 40th anniversary celebrations.

He said: "Eurofighter's first experience of the Air Tattoo came in 1995 with the first UK public appearance of Eurofighter 2000. Since then we have enjoyed a lasting friendship. Air Tattoo is a keystone in the World airshow circuit and Eurofighter, as the best example of European technology, cannot miss the opportunity to join it. Happy Birthday RIAT and here's to another 40 years."

In addition to marking the 40th Air Tattoo, 2011 has seen Eurofighter reach a number of milestones including the 100.000 flying hours milestone, the 280 aircraft delivered and the delivery completion of the 100th Eurofighter aircraft built at BAE Systems, Warton.

Air Tattoo Chief Executive Tim Prince said we are extremely grateful to Eurofighter not only for the incredible faith they have shown in our event over the years but also for their generosity in supporting us on our 40th anniversary. Without sponsors such as Eurofighter, the Air Tattoo would not have gained the reputation it has for consistently delivering a world-beating spectacle."
