DHL 767

A DHL 767 will make its Air Tattoo debut in July's flying programme, its only display in the UK this year.

The modified jet airliner will be joined by a DHL 757 which will go on static display. A DHL 757 last appeared at the Air Tattoo in 2005.

The aircraft are appearing as part of the Air Tattoo's 'Queen's Diamond Jubilee' celebrations. DHL plan to run an internal competition among its pilots with the prize of co-piloting the 767 during its display.

An Air Tattoo spokesman said: "It's great to see DHL back – and with two aircraft so people can see one aircraft close up and the other in the air. The sight of such a large aircraft performing at low level is always exciting for the crowd and is a wonderful addition to the programme."

DHL is the world market leader in sea and air mail. It was founded in the US in 1969 but was bought by German logistics company Deutsche Post in 2002.

DHL ordered six 767-300Fs from Boeing in 2007 the first of which were delivered in 2009.
