USAF C-21A

The US Air Force's version of the Gates Learjet executive jet is called the C-21A. The twin-turbofan type is used to transport both personnel and cargo, with a secondary role of aeromedical evacuation. C-21A deliveries took place in 1984-85, the type entering service with units based both in the continental USA and overseas. In Europe, the Learjet is flown by the 76th Airlift Squadron, a component of the 86th Airlift Wing at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Apart from providing transport for senior commanders and others within the European theatre, the 76th AS has often deployed its C-21As to Afghanistan, where they fly executive airlift and aeromedical evacuation tasks.

“It was an epic spectacle, as magical as anything you've ever seen in the West End, and as loud as anything you've ever heard at Knebworth.”
