PART TIME ADMINISTRATOR - RAF CHARITABLE TRUST

T&Cs: Permanent, Part-Time 

About us:

The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust is the youngest member of the Royal Air Force family and has had a significant and positive impact on the lives of many people. Our strength lies in our ability to support such a wide range of projects and initiatives benefiting RAF serving personnel (both regulars and reserves), cadets and other young people and veterans.

The Trustees award grants to those people and projects that they assess to be most worthy of financial support and most closely aligned to the charitable objectives. They have awarded over £4 million since the Trust was formed in 2005.

An experienced, self-motivated administrator is required to support the Director and Trustees of the RAF Charitable Trust. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the general administration of the Trust, including day to day grants administration, financial record-keeping and PR/Media activity. Applicants must have a pro-active approach, be comfortable with representing the charity to a wide range of organisations, have excellent administration skills and be able to work on their own initiative. This position would particularly suit a former RAF Pers Support SNCO. There is scope to develop the role for the right individual.


Key responsibilities:

Maintenance of financial spreadsheets and through-life grant management

Managing and initiating PR activity and the charity's social media presence

Processing e-mail and other routine correspondence and the preparation of draft responses

Representing the Trust at events

Maintaining Gift aid records

Developing the Trusts online presence and communication plan

Managing Trust marketing materials

Admin support for Trustees

Assisting the Trust Director as required


Skills and qualifications:

5 GCSE's/O-Level's or equivalent including Maths and English

Computer literate (Demonstrate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Financial management/accounting experience

Confidence with social media

Experience working with or for the RAF (desirable)

Familiarity with Charity regulations (desirable)

Working hours:

Part-time 3 days a week 9am to 5pm (or equivalent hours) with the potential to develop the role for the right candidate. Occasional weekend working will be required to fulfil responsibilities.
