Published: 24 Mar 2016   updated: 12 Apr 2016

A strong supporter of the airshow for decades, The Netherlands Air Force is poised to send a large contingent of aircraft to this year's Air Tattoo. Appearing in the static display will be a Boeing CH-47 Chinook heavy-lift helicopter. The Chinook will be joined by a pair of heavyweights, the C-130 Hercules airlifter and the distinctive three-engined KDC-10 transport/tanker jet, both of which are flown from Eindhoven in Central Holland. They will joined by a Dornier 228 twin-turboprop patrol aircraft which is flown in the colours of the Netherlands Coast Guard by air force and navy pilots.
