Trust Supports RAF Benson 'Thank You'

There was plenty to enjoy in the air and on the ground at RAF Benson's Families' Day recently.
The event, which is staged annually, is open to all those stationed in Wallingford, their families plus those who have provided support to serving personnel on the base during the past year.
Earlier this year the RAF Charitable Trust approved a grant request for £1,000 towards the day, one of 10 families' day events that received financial assistance over the summer.
Taking place in glorious sunshine, more than 1,000 guests were treated to a wide range of entertainment including a display by the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team and a role demo by Puma and Chinook squadrons based at RAF Benson supported by members of the RAF Regiment.
On the ground there were static aircraft on display along with stalls and children's activities which included a party, themed around the animated film Rio that featured mask-making and a drum and dance workshop.
Group Captain Simon Paterson, Station Commander of RAF Benson said: "Families' day is a chance to bring all the families together to thank them for their unerring support. With aerial and static displays, fun-filled activities and exhibits plus live music and entertainment into the evening; the day has something for everyone. My thanks go to all who supported the event, especially the RAF Charitable Trust."
