Royal Danish Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon

The Royal Danish Air Force, one of the original European Participating Air Forces who chose the F-16 Fighting Falcon as a replacement for the F-104 Starfighter, will join RIAT 2014's celebration of the F-16's 40th anniversary with an example from its Fighter Wing Skrydstrup. The base at Skrydstrup in southern Jutland now houses Denmark's entire fleet of Fighting Falcons, all F-16A/B Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) examples. A total of 30 operational examples are on strength at any one time, split between two squadrons. Recent taskings have included the Baltic Air Policing mission, providing air defence for the Baltic states - a role of increased importance as a result of the situation in Ukraine.

“It was an epic spectacle, as magical as anything you've ever seen in the West End, and as loud as anything you've ever heard at Knebworth.”

Jeremy Clarkson, Television Presenter

“All the thrills, excitement and noise of a Grand Prix, but in the air!”

Jenson Button, Formula 1 Racing Driver

“This is the best airshow!”

Buzz Aldrin, Apollo 11 Astronaut
