Czech Air Force C295

The Airbus (formerly EADS CASA) C295 twin-turboprop transport has proved popular with several nations looking to renew their Soviet-era medium transport fleets. Among them is the Czech Republic, which has four examples, delivered at the start of the decade. In Czech Air Force service the type replaced the long-serving Antonov An-26 'Curl'. The C295 fleet is stationed at Kbely air base near the Czech capital Prague, and is operated by the 242nd Transport Squadron. Powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127G engines, the C295 can carry a payload of up to 9,250kg (20,400lb).
