RAF Slingsby Venture

The Venture T2 was the Air Cadets' first motorised glider. It has its origins in a German design, the Scheibe SF-25B Falke; Slingsby acquired a licence to produce this type as the T61, which was subsequently evaluated by and procured for the RAF. The engine is a Rollason RS2 developing 48hp. Upon retirement in 1990-91 the Venture was superseded by the Grob Vigilant, but many have ended up in private hands.

“It was an epic spectacle, as magical as anything you've ever seen in the West End, and as loud as anything you've ever heard at Knebworth.”

Jeremy Clarkson, Television Presenter

Jenson Button, Formula 1 Racing Driver
