Turkish Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon

Turkey is one of the largest operators of the F-16 Fighting Falcon and uses the aircraft for air defence, ground attack and reconnaissance missions introducing the type into service during the 1980s. But was not until 2010, that the Turkish Air Force decided it wanted to be able to display the aircraft at international airshows, prompting the creation of the Soloturk team with an F-16 painted in a dramatic gold, silver and black colour scheme. The team performed its first display in September 2010 and made its Air Tattoo debut in 2011, where pilot Maj. Murat Keles took home the King Hussein Memorial Trophy for the Best Overall Flying Demonstration. Soloturk also appeared at the 2014 Air Tattoo.
