French Air Force Alpha Jet E

The Alpha Jet, developed originally by French manufacturer Dassault-Breguet and West German firm Dornier, first flew in 1973. It remains in service with several air arms, France being the biggest current operator; the Alpha Jet is the mount of the Patrouille de France display team. At RIAT 2017, a pair of Alpha Jet E trainers will be on static display, provided by French Air Force unit Ecole d'Aviation de Chasse (Fighter School) 00.314 from Tours-St Symphorien.

“It was an epic spectacle, as magical as anything you've ever seen in the West End, and as loud as anything you've ever heard at Knebworth.”

Jeremy Clarkson, Television Presenter

“All the thrills, excitement and noise of a Grand Prix, but in the air!”

Jenson Button, Formula 1 Racing Driver

Buzz Aldrin, Apollo 11 Astronaut
