There are more than 60 careers in the Royal Air Force and each one offered variety, excitement and the trill of challenge.  The RAF isn’t just for pilots either – running a modern air force requires a vast team of specialists and support staff, here are just a few:-

Travel
The RAF works around the world – and so could you!  This could mean being stationed at one of our permanent overseas bases or going on a short-term detachment to almost anywhere in the world.

Sport and Adventure Training
Fitness is a key part of RAF life, and everyone is encouraged to join in a wide range of sports.  So whatever you’re into – football or rugby, athletics or tennis, aerobics or martial arts – you’ll find it's on offer, to every standard.  If you fancy something out of the ordinary, RAF adventurous training is available to everyone, with activities ranging from rock climbing and sky diving to skiing and surfing.

Professional Training and Qualifications
The training you receive in the RAF is highly regarded by civilian employers,  you can also gain a range of extra professional and academic qualifications while you serve.  You can get time off to study and financial assistance, and the work you do for the RAF may even count towards your qualification.

RAF personnel are mainly young, outgoing people who are looking to enjoy life, so there’s always something going on.  Group trips abroad, weekend excursions, themed party nights or just hanging out with a few friends – you’ll never be short of ways to have fun!!
