Air Tattoo Live
Air Tattoo Live is the Air Tattoo’s very own radio station offering music, up-to-the-minute air show news, traffic bulletins, interviews and live commentary of the world’s greatest flying display.
Aircraft Checklists
The Aircraft Checklist giving details of serial numbers, codes and the squadrons for all participating aircraft will be on sale at £3.00 from selected sales points – see showground map for details.
Animals
No dogs or any other animals are allowed at the Air Tattoo. Please do not leave animals in any form of transport, as car parks are regularly checked.
Aviation Club
The Aviation Club is designed for individuals, groups and organisations preferring a special day out in a non-corporate environment. Tickets can only be purchased in advance, Adult ticket price £135.00 (Price includes your admission into RIAT) Child (5-15 yrs) ticket price £102.50. Please note children under the age of 5 are not permitted into the enclosure.

Bank
The Thomas Cook Bureau de Change can be found next to the main Public Information Centre in the central showground area. There will be facilities to cash cheques, credit card debits and international exchange.
Bicycles
Bicycles are not permitted onto the showground but can be secured to the outside of the security fence.
BFBS- The British Forces Broadcasting Service
BFBS will be supporting the Air Tattoo this year by providing Broadcast facilities for Air Tattoo Live. BFBS is the Forces radio station and has three networks broadcasting pop and speech radio 24 hours a day, combining the best of local radio from eight overseas locations with a service relayed from the UK to places around the world wherever significant numbers of Service personnel are based. BFBS Radio currently broadcasts to 23 countries and has manned radio stations in 11 countries including Iraq.
BFBS also broadcasts for the Ghurkhas and in addition to Radio the Parent group, the Services Sound and Vision Corporation provides The Forces Television service around the world, the Forces Cinemas and Combined Services Entertainment shows. It also Runs Electrical goods stores in Germany and Manages the Defence Film Library on behalf of the MOD.
BFBS will be broadcasting to the whole forces audience abroad from Air Tattoo.
Catering
There will be a number of Food Villages conveniently positioned for the benefit of the public, each of which will be in the centre of entertainments and attractions. Each Food Village will have a bar and an ice cream stall and a full selection of traditional and ethnic food. In addition, there will be individual food and bar outlets throughout the showground.
Camping
There are a number of campsites in the area. Details are available from Cirencester Tourist Information Centre on 01285 654180 or email cirencestervic@cotswold.gov.uk .
Car Parking
There is ample FREE car parking close to the airfield on the red, blue and green routes. Parking for early arrivals will be available but it is not possible to relocate vehicles once the public gates open.
Children
Children under 16 go FREE and do not require a ticket. Children 5 and upwards require a ticket for the Public Grandstand, Jubilee Garden and Aviation Club. Children under 5 are admitted free as long as they do not occupy a seat.
Concessions
No concessions are available for OAP’s, students or serving or ex serving personnel.
Crèche
Children can be left in the Air Tattoo crèche in a secure and welcoming environment in the care of NNEB/NVQ qualified staff. The crèche caters for children aged 3-6. A charge will be made with special offers for longer stays and larger families.
Disabled
Disabled parking is available for those displaying a disabled badge at the front of each designated car park, but please bear in mind it's a grass area and possibly not suitable for wheelchairs or unstable walkers. There is a Disabled Enclosure close to the flight line, which has to be booked in advance. A limited number of mobility vehicles are available on a first come first serve basis and details will follow shortly. A FREE shuttle bus runs from the entrance gates along the showground stopping close to the Disabled Enclosure. For further enquiries email disabled@rafcte.com or call 01285 713300 ext.5380.
Drop Zone
This facility will allow visitors to make the most of their day by leaving shopping, picnics and any other heavy items in a secure location. Conveniently located in the central showground area, The Drop Zone offers a lighter, brighter way to enjoy the Air Tattoo
Evening Concert
After the flying display has finished there will be a FREE two-hour concert. The concert stage is located to the east of the main Public Information Centre.
First Aid
There will be three First Aid points on the showground – see showground map for details.
Flying In
Charter aircraft operators and private aircraft may fly in to the Air Show.
Flying Display
The Royal International Air Tattoo 2008 will feature military and commercial aircraft in the flying display from 9.45 to 18.30 on both public days. The flying display programme will be available in the Souvenir Programme. Visit Aircraft at the Show for a list of participating aircraft.

Information
The main Public Information Centre is located in the centre of the showground. There are three additional Public Information points at each of the entrance gates.
Jubilee Garden
The centrally located Jubilee Garden is a deckchair enclosure on the crowdline offering a fantastic view of the world’s greatest flying display. Cost per person in advance £19.95. A limited number of tickets may be available on the day, ticket price £23.00.
Please note entry to RIAT 2008 is not included.
Lost Property
Lost Property will be handed to the Police Station located in the centre of the showground. Unclaimed lost property will be forwarded after the event to the Stroud Police Station.
Lost & Found Children
The Public Information Centre will deal with lost and found children. Please encourage children to wear a wristband which can be collected from any entrance gate or Information point.
Media
Please visit our Media Centre for further information. All media requires accreditation.
Motorbikes
Please note that motorbikes will be parked in the main car parks, but please bear in mind this will be on grass. Helmets and outer clothing can be left in the Drop Zone in the centre of the showground.
Park & View
There are two Park & View enclosures at the East and West ends of the airfield for watching the aircraft arrive, rehearse and depart. The enclosures will open on Wednesday 09 July - Friday 11 July incl. and again on Monday 14 July. Tickets are priced as follows:

Police
The police station run by Gloucestershire Constabulary can be found next to the main Public Information Centre in the central showground area.
Public Grandstand
The centrally located Public Grandstand offers an uninterrupted bird's eye view of the world’s greatest flying display. Cost £18.95 per person in advance. A limited number of tickets may be available on the day, ticket price £21.00.
Please note entry to RIAT 2008 is not included.
Public Transport
With fast, direct rail services from London, Oxford Bristol and Wales one of the easiest ways to get to the Air Tattoo is to catch a train to Swindon. A shuttle bus run by Thamesdown Transport will run from Swindon bus station (a short walk from the train station) to RAF Fairford. The first bus leaves at 07.00 with the last bus returning at 20.00. Tickets are priced £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.
Re-admission
There is no re-admission onto the showground after 17.00.
Recycling
There will be a number of units on the showground for the recycling of plastic cups & bottles, paper and cardboard.

Showground Map
The showground map available at the entrance gates or from any Information point shows all the sights and attractions and how to get to them. A copy of the map can also be found in the back of the Souvenir Programme.
Showground Shuttle Bus
The Royal International Air Tattoo is a big show! Take advantage of the FREE bus service operating from each entrance gate and along the showground. The showground map shows where the bus stops are and lists the main attractions in each area. Just look for the bus stop signs on the green cone road.
Souvenir Programme
The official Royal International Air Tattoo 2008 Souvenir Programme is packed with lots of helpful information and features as well as money saving vouchers off selected show merchandise. This glossy 136 page publication costs only £8.00 and is available at the entrance gates, Information points and official show souvenirs sales outlets around the showground – see showground map for details.
Tents, Gazebos, Stepladders & Windbreaks on the Showground
The erection of tents, Gazebos, Stepladders and windbreaks on the showground can often serve to block the view of other spectators and, effectively, spoil the experience of others. Consequently, it has been decided to prohibit the erection of these structures within 10 metres of the crowd line. The exclusion zone will be signed and any spectator who disregards this ban will be required to dismantle the offending structure and may be asked to leave the showground.
Timetable
The showground opens at 07.30 and closes at 20.30 to the general public. There is no admission/re-admission after 17.00.

Tri@RIAT
Rivalling the action in the air will be one of the Air Tattoo’s most ambitious and exciting attractions specifically aimed at young people. Dominating the central showground, Tri@RIAT will offer a wide variety of stimulating and entertaining activities and demonstrations designed to inspire young people to do something different.
Vehicle Displays
In the centre of the showground there will be a large display of classic, vintage, custom, competition, military, commercial and other interesting vehicles.
