BECOME A VOLUNTEER FOR THE WORLD'S BIGGEST AIRSHOW!!

The Royal International Air Tattoo is mainly staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers from all over the world who come together in July to be a part of the world’s biggest airshow.

Since the first Air Tattoo in 1971, the RIAT volunteer team (now circa 3,500) and a small group of permanent staff have worked together to make the Air Tattoo a great day out and a unique environment for the general public and the world’s military aviators alike.  Through their tremendous efforts, the Air Tattoo is now recognised as the world’s largest and most significant event in the airshow calendar.

The RIAT team work closely with and enjoy the outstanding support of the Royal Air Force and of course the 420th Air Base Group, United States Air Force, the normal operators of RAF Fairford.  They too strive to maintain and surpass the high standards set in previous years, as we endeavour to make each Tattoo even better than the last. 

Volunteers are involved in every aspect of the show, from greeting international military aircrew on arrival to helping the general public with queries.
