TIMOTHY GEORGE ALEXANDER (TIM) PRINCE OBE FRAeS

Tim Prince OBE

Tim Prince was born in Oxfordshire and worked for the Dept. of Transport / CAA as an Air Traffic Controller from 1966 to 1978 primarily at A&AEE Boscombe Down. He worked with NATS as a civilian air traffic controller at the then A&AEE Boscombe Down from 1969 to 1978 and is now Chief Executive of Royal Air Force Charitable Trust Enterprises and of the Royal International Air Tattoo.

His involvement in the Air Tattoo started at its formation in 1971. Since its inception, the Air Tattoo, now the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), has been staged in support of the Royal Air Force Association (1971-74), the RAF Benevolent Fund (1976-2004) and the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust since 2005.

As an aviation and event management consultant, Tim has also been involved in the organisation of many other events including: F1 Grand Prix air shows (1982-1988); Army Air Corps International Air Show (1982-1986); TVS Airshow South (1984-1988); King's Cup Air Race (1980-1986) and World Aerobatic Championships in 1986. He was display director for the 50th Anniversary of London Heathrow Airport flypast and for the flypast celebrating the opening of the Eurotunnel. He has also acted as an air show advisor to the CAA and the Australian, Romanian, Czech, Slovak, Swiss, Spanish, Hungarian and South African air forces.

Tim was a founder member and trustee of the RIAT Flying Scholarships for the Disabled People Trust. His wife Penny is an artist and their two sons, Hugh and Rufus, are both IT engineers
