RAF Akrotiri Bowls Over Trust for Funding

Published: 27 Oct 2017

RAF Akrotiri will be refurbishing their bowling centre's courtyard with thanks to funding from the RAF Charitable Trust.

The external courtyard of the centre has been under-utilised over many years and the planned refurbishment will offer seating shade and a secure environment for personnel and their families to socialise.

The Trust's grant of £6,615 will help with phase five of the regeneration and will enable RAF Akrotiri to equip the outdoor courtyard with furniture, consisting of 12 tables and chairs, three outdoor sofas and cushions, benefiting up to 3,000 personnel and their families.

Mark Elliman, Chairman of the Bowling Centre said: "The bowling centre will give families the opportunity to relax and enjoy a leisure facility together. We'd like to thank the Trust for their continued support; the furniture purchased from their donation will be appreciated by everyone here at RAF Akrotiri."
