The Kettle's on at RAF Halton

Published: 04 May 2016

It's time for a new brew at RAF Halton Recruit Training Squadron Tea Bar.

Staff and visitors will soon be able to enjoy a relaxing cuppa in modernised surroundings thanks to a grant from the RAF Charitable Trust.

The Trust has awarded the RTS £8,058 to refurbish the busy area and make it fit for purpose. The bar caters for 170 permanent staff and around 300 external visitors a year, as well as doubling up as a low-level function room.

The improvements, including new flooring and units, have already been drawn up and approved by permanent staff, who also raised £750 towards the refurb. A further £1500 from the RAF Halton Local Initiative Grant completes the overall cost of £10,308.

“It was an epic spectacle, as magical as anything you've ever seen in the West End, and as loud as anything you've ever heard at Knebworth.”

Jeremy Clarkson, Television Presenter
