Funding helps club get riders back in the saddle

Published: 24 Feb 2017

Thanks to a £255 grant provided by the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, the RAF High Wycombe Saddle Club has purchased new uniforms for its recently-formed, competitive team.

The award was approved by Trustees to add to the team spirit and reinforce the professionalism of its members when riding at key events. It will fund new jackets and polo shirts for its 20 members.

The RAF High Wycombe Saddle Club holds riding lessons at a local equestrian centre twice-a-month and has recently put forward a team for the Inter Station League and the RAF Championships. This is the first time the team has had enough members to compete in these events for a number of years.

“It was an epic spectacle, as magical as anything you've ever seen in the West End, and as loud as anything you've ever heard at Knebworth.”

Jeremy Clarkson, Television Presenter

“All the thrills, excitement and noise of a Grand Prix, but in the air!”

Jenson Button, Formula 1 Racing Driver

“This is the best airshow!”

Buzz Aldrin, Apollo 11 Astronaut
