AIRBUS BELUGAXL

Making an Air Tattoo debut this year is the A330-743L Beluga XL. A custom-built modification of the standard Airbus A330 airliner, the Beluga XL was developed by Airbus to partially replace and supplement the original A300 based Beluga in order to transport outsize cargo between its factories and the final assembly lines. Not only has the Beluga XL been used to fly partially built airliner fuselages/wings around the globe, the aircrafts unique capabilities have also been used to fly modules for the International Space Station to their launch site and occasionally relief supplies to emergency zones. The Airbus A330 is the same type flown by the RAF as the Voyager.
