Joining the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Her Majesties Coastguard will be a Leonardo AW189 operated on their behalf by Bristow Helicopters. Since 2017 this Search and Rescue (SAR) configured medium-lift helicopter has been operated alongside the larger Sikorsky S-92 to provide the 999 SAR helicopter service on behalf of the HM Coastguard from ten locations throughout the UK. The AW189 first flew in 2011 and has since found popularity as an off-shore oil rig support helicopter and currently the only military operator of the type is the Egyptian Air Force.
