In a UK debut, this year's Air Tattoo will be treated a very rare solo display by the W-3 Sokół of the Czech Air Force. The Czech Air Force operate a small fleet of the Polish designed and built PZL W-3 Sokół utility helicopter.
First flown in 1979, the W-3 is operated by a number of civilian and military organisations around the world primarily in the utility role however the Polish military also use the type for medical evacuation, search and rescue, a flying command centre, and as a light attach helicopter. In the Czech Air Force, their fleet is split between military transport and emergency medical use.
