ROLLS-ROYCE MUSTANG

Joining our USAF 75th anniversary static display this year will be P-51D Mustang 'Warhorse'. Owned by Biggin Hill based Warbird Experiences, the aircraft will be appearing at RIAT 2022 on behalf of the Rolls-Royce Heritage Flight alongside their Spitfire which is forming part of our flying display. Warhorse is painted to commemorate Col Donal Blakesee, the Commanding Officer of the Debden Eagles.

In reality, this Mustang has previously been operated by the US Army Air Corps, Royal Canadian Air Force and the Scandinavian Historic Flight. Most recently it was operating on the UK airshow circuit wearing a distinctive 'Sharkmouth' paint scheme.
