Swedish SAAB JAS-39NG Gripen

Air Tattoo visitors impressed with the dynamic display by the Swedish Air Force's Saab Gripen will be able to view the latest version up close in the static park.

A Gripen JAS-39NG, which will come from the Flight Test Centre in Linkoping, follows a long tradition of excellent high-performance fighter aircraft built by the Swedes, from the long-serving SAAB-35 Draken ('Dragon', 1955-2005) to the Mach-2 SAAB-37 Viggen ('Thunderbolt', 1971-2005).

The NG (Next Generation) features increased fuel capacity, a higher payload, upgraded avionics as well as other improvements to its predecessors. It made its first international debut in July 2010.
