RAF BBMF HAWKER HURRICANES

The fighter that was the real mainstay of RAF Fighter Command's efforts in 1940, the Hawker Hurricane is represented by two aircraft in the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's fleet. Both are MkIIc variants - LF363, one of the BBMF's founding aircraft, appears very appropriately in the markings of a No 1 Squadron aircraft as flown by Sgt Arthur Clowes during the Battle, while PZ865, the last Hurricane ever built, is finished as a No 34 Squadron machine of South-East Asia Command. Very seldom have the BBMF's two Hurricanes ever appeared together in a flying display.
