The Cirrus Moth is a wooden, 2-seat biplane that first flew in 1925 with company founder Geoffrey de Havilland in the cockpit. An immensely capable machine, it was seen as the first truly practical light aircraft and claimed many notable adventures, including Lady Bailey's return flight from Croydon to Cape Town in 1929. Two years earlier she set an altitude record in a Cirrus Moth, climbing to over 17,000ft.
