One of the world's most potent fast jets will be put through its paces by the Royal Air Force at the 2016 Air Tattoo.

Visitors will be able to experience the aircraft's manoeuvrability and immense power as it thunders through the air for what is always one of the highlights in the flying display.

The Typhoon provides the RAF with a multi-role combat aircraft, capable of performing in the full spectrum of air operations, from air policing to peace support, through to high intensity conflict. In 2011 it took part in Operation Ellamy to enforce the no-fly zone over Libya, while in 2012, RAF Typhoons helped provide security over London during the Olympic Games.

This year, the RAF Typhoon display will be flown by Flt Lt Mark Long, from 29 (R) Sqn based at RAF Coningsby. In addition, the static park will feature two examples from No. 1 (F) and 41 (R) Test and Evaluation Squadrons.
