The Airbus Defence and Space (formerly EADS CASA) C295 twin-turboprop transport has proved popular with countries across the world, selling across Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. The Royal Air Force of Oman has purchased the aircraft in two versions, one for light transport duties, while three have been heavily modified for the maritime patrol mission, replacing the Shorts Skyvan. Oman's C295s can also carry an oil dispersant system called Nimbus. The Omani C295s attending the Air Tattoo is from 2 Sqn, and is based at Al Musana air base, near the Omani capital, Muscat.
