The RAF Charitable Trust Enterprises organise a host of aviation related events including the Royal International Air Tattoo that attracts 185,000 visitors for a weekend of spectacular aviation action every year.  Our commercial activities enable us to gift our profits to The RAF Charitable Trust in order to foster and encourage an interest in aviation amongst young people and to inspire the next generation of aerospace professionals - whether engineers, pilots or ground crew. 

Our Communications & IT function manages a first class service for the RAFCTE & associated entities. We are currently looking to recruit a talented and versatile individual to join the team, keen to get involved in all aspects of C & IT; from IT systems and hardware, through to telecoms, radios and both cloud & locally hosted services.

This challenging role will support a busy office, creating and delivering C & IT for the World's largest military air show.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Provide helpdesk support to resolve company and associated C & IT issues
  • Develop and maintain user application profiles
  • External C & IT contacts/support telephone system developments
  • Maintain the support and infrastructure for C & IT Continuous Improvement Processes
  • Support, maintain and administer C & IT hardware and applications to ensure they are fit for purpose and aligned with C & IT strategy
  • Support all C & IT RIAT activities
  • Maintain register of software, versions and user licences
  • Maintain all necessary licences for radio systems, C & IT systems
  • Provide IT related skill training requirements for all employees

About You:

Education & Experience

The following experience would be useful:

  • Educated to 'A' Level standard 
  • Experience in Windows server administration, maintenance and repair of hardware 
  • Exposure or experience of Linux based systems
  • Project/Event management

Knowledge

  • Microsoft Products (e.g. Windows/Office/365/Sharepoint)
  • Familiarity and an interest in current C & IT applications

Skills
  • Comfortable interacting with people at all levels
  • Awareness of time management and deadlines
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Eager to develop skills and knowledge base
