Job Title: Sales Assistant (Trade and Exhibition)

Salary: £19,300 pro rata

Location: Fairford, Gloucestershire

Job Type: Full Time (Fixed Term Contract), March to August 2019

The RAF Charitable Trust Enterprises organise a host of aviation related events including the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) that attracts 185,000 visitors for a weekend of spectacular aviation action every year. Our commercial activities enable us to gift our profits to The RAF Charitable Trust in order to foster and encourage an interest in aviation amongst young people and to inspire the next generation of aerospace professionals - whether engineers, pilots or ground crew.

A great opportunity has arisen for a talented all-rounder who is enthusiastic, outgoing, dynamic and result-focused with a strong sales background. You'll be assisting with a wide range of challenging assignments to help deliver them on time and within budget. A flexible approach to tasks and responsibilities is paramount along with project planning and detailed Excel knowledge.

Main Responsibilities:

·Energetically support the Trade & Exhibition department in strengthening existing and developing new business for the company

·Assisting in promoting, selling and managing showground trade and exhibition sites and themed zone opportunities at RIAT through to final delivery at the show

·Assisting in identifying and creating new revenue earning and sponsorship opportunities at RIAT by proactive communication and follow up

·Assisting in ensuring that all sales activities are accurately recorded, invoiced and plotted using Excel based systems

·Assist with ensuring that all insurance and health and safety documentation is received and approved

·Working closely with the department's Executive to ensure all customer facing activities are coordinated, effective and delivered in accordance with business plans

·Work at the RIAT supporting the delivery of the trade and exhibition and themed zone operations

About You:

Essential:

·Effective/successful sales experience

·Experience of Excel and Word to an intermediate/advanced level

·Strong organisational and negotiation skills

·Be able to prioritise tasks and deliver to agreed timescales and deadlines,

·The ability to remain calm under pressure

·Excellent oral and written communication skills

·Numerate

·Good copy writing skills

·A proactive self-starter with the ability to work on your own initiative

Desirable:

·Experience of outdoor events/activities/exhibitions

·A creative and imaginative approach, happy to contribute ideas and vision

·Experience of the consumer world
