Job Title:  FRIAT Operations Team x 3

Location: Fairford, Gloucestershire

About Us:

We are a Charitable Trust Enterprise whose mission is to promote the Royal Air Force, to support its people now and into the future, to encourage air-mindedness and the aviation-related education of youth. We achieve this, primarily, through the staging of the Royal International Air Tattoo, the Royal Air Force Concerts and the giving of grants to satisfy the Trust's objects.

About the role:

The FRIAT enclosure has 1,950 members who have access to the enclosure from the Thursday prior to the show through to the Monday. The packages are either 6, 4 or 2 days.  Volunteers will be required from the Tuesday prior to the show to help the FRIAT manager set up the enclosure ready for opening on the Thursday.  It is quite a physical role as the FRIAT members will have access to the enclosure when the showground is closed.  To ensure safety on these days the members need to be escorted to and from the enclosure through the showground to the exit.  As well as managing the enclosure there is also a Marquee within the enclosure with a member's desk that needs to manned.  Members will come here to book for the next year's show, enquire about seating, leave luggage at the left luggage desk

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Set up enclosure ready to open to members
  • Manage the enclosure entrance checking passes
  • Man the disabled parking area each morning to ensure other people do not park in there
  • Escort members to and from the blue CEP on Thursday & Monday
  • Manage the FRIAT Queue on Friday, Saturday & Sunday at Gate J
  • Pack up the enclosure on Monday

What commitment is required?

  • You are required from the Tuesday prior to show weekend through to when the enclosure shuts on Monday after the final departures.

Why volunteer at the Air Tattoo?

  • Be part of a prestigious international event
  • It's a great opportunity to gain new skills, experience and make new friends
