About Us:

We are a Charitable Trust Enterprise whose mission is to promote the Royal Air Force, to support its people now and into the future, to encourage air-mindedness and the aviation-related education of youth.

We achieve this, primarily, through the staging of the Royal International Air Tattoo, the Royal Air Force Concerts and the giving of grants to satisfy the Trust's objects.

About the role:

Air Tattoo Merchandise & Programmes is a team of 45 volunteers who are based on the Showground selling official Air Tattoo products and Souvenir Programmes to visitors.

Volunteers are involved in the set-up of merchandise trailers pre-show, selling merchandise and souvenir programmes to visitors at the Air Tattoo itself, and packing up the merchandise trailers post show.

We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly and approachable people, who enjoy engaging with customers. Volunteers for this busy role must be confident handling money.

Opportunities for familiarisation with the product range and site will be provided before opening to the public.

Volunteers are asked to commit to 4 days from Thursday 18 July to Sunday 21 July 2018.


Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the final set up of merchandise before show opens
  • Selling products and providing information and directions to Air Tattoo visitors
  • Replenishing stock throughout the day as necessary
  • Reconciling stock at the end of each day, ready for the next day's trading
  • Assisting with clearing merchandise trailers and returning stock to warehouse post show

What commitment is required?

  • From Thursday 18 to Sunday 21 July
  • Able to attend team briefing (approx. 2-3 hours) during the afternoon of Saturday 18 May
