Published: 12 Apr 2019   updated: 16 Apr 2019

This week we celebrated 100 days to go until this year's Air Tattoo! We can't believe that we will soon be opening the gates at RAF Fairford to you all. Friday admission is £47 and the day is sure to come around very soon! We've put together our top reasons on why you should visit the Air Tattoo on Friday below...

1. Tim Peake Visits the Techno Zone®

We're thrilled that British Astronaut Tim Peake will be visiting the Air Tattoo on Friday! He will just be here on Friday, so this will be your only opportunity to see him at the Techno Zone® inspiring people of all ages!

2. It's much more than just a 4 hour flying display!

There are aircraft arrivals either side of our 4 hour flying display from 11am - 3pm! So there will be lots of aircraft activity happening throughout the day. Watch the highlights from Friday in 2017 below...

3. Pit Access

By visiting on Friday you'll have exclusive 'pit area' access where aircraft that are taking part in the flying display will be parked. This area will be to the east end of the airfield and south of the runway.

This is just on Friday and is not available on Saturday and Sunday. A fantastic reason for visiting on Friday!

4. Spanish Harrier and the Red Arrows

You'll be the first to see the Spanish Harrier and the Red Arrows take to the skies at RIAT 2019! Did you know that the air show is the last time you'll get to see the Red Arrows display before they jet off on their USA tour?

5. It's a more relaxed atmosphere!

Another fantastic reason to visit the Air Show on a Friday is the relaxed atmosphere. There are less crowds and our Friday visitors praise the Friday offer!

"Please keep the Friday as it is - very relaxed, easy to get around and the flying display is the right length"

"I think Friday works really well. It's the best of the flying display in four hours and much less busy"

“It was an epic spectacle, as magical as anything you've ever seen in the West End, and as loud as anything you've ever heard at Knebworth.”

Jeremy Clarkson, Television Presenter

“All the thrills, excitement and noise of a Grand Prix, but in the air!”

Jenson Button, Former Formula 1 Racing Driver

“Probably the most complete air show I’ve ever been to!”

Al Worden, Apollo 15 Astronaut

“This is THE best airshow!”
