Invited Air Arms Confirmed!
Published: 04 Jan 2018 updated: 09 Jan 2018
We are now into what will be an amazing year for the RAF as we celebrate their 100th Anniversary. You can be assured we are doing everything we can to deliver a fantastic Air Tattoo that reflects 100 years of RAF achievements, as well as celebrating the present and helping to inspire future generations.
We can now provide an update regarding those Air Arms that have been invited to the Air Tattoo this year. The full list is available to view HERE
To explain a bit more about the process of inviting participants, we produced a list of countries we wished to invite which was then agreed by a number of parties. This was followed up by sending out invitations to the respective nations' Chief of Air Staff by post and email.
Following up these invitations a series of Embassy visits were undertaken by our team, meeting each nation's Military and Defence Attachés who are responsible for the UK. We were overwhelmed by the positive outlook from the Attaché community in wanting to help us with the international celebration of RAF100 and we will be delighted with whatever aircraft they chose to send to the Air Tattoo, whether static or flying.

Regarding aircraft participation we are delighted that our good friends at the Royal Canadian Air Force have already confirmed they will be sending their CF18 Hornet Display
, last seen here in 2008, and we hope to have more updates for you before too long!
Rest assured we are working hard with our RAF and international colleagues to bring the established favourites and attract new participants to the Air Tattoo, with exciting plans underway to celebrate RAF100 both in the flying and static displays.
