A Royal Danish Air Force Super Lynx helicopter will be a welcome addition to the Air Tattoo's rotary 'club' on static display this summer.
The aircraft is used for maritime patrol and search & rescue missions and regularly deploy with ships to Greenland. It will come from Esk 723, based at Karup.
Last year saw a Danish Lynx helicopter deployed to support NATO's counter-piracy operation Ocean Shield off the Horn of Africa.
The Royal Danish Air Force is looking to replace its Lynx fleet with a new maritime helicopter when operations with the current fleet end in 2017. Among the frontrunners are the AgustaWestland AW159 Lynx Wildcat, Eurocopter AS565 and the Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk.
