A Eurocopter Super Puma operated by the Swiss Air Force will feature in a special public showcase highlighting one of the roles performed by Swiss-based service provider RUAG Aviation.
RUAG Aviation has recently delivered two completely modernised Super Pumas to the Swiss Air Force with 13 more to follow. The upgraded aircraft, designated as TH06 in Swiss Air Force service, feature a range of important improvements including the integration of a flight management system, two global positioning systems (GPS), an inertial navigation system, a modern digital map display, flight-data recorders, an anti-collision warning system, new radio systems (police, encrypted radio and satellite transmission), and the integration of a searchlight coupled with FLIR.
The upgrade turns the Swiss Air Force TH06 into a specialised rotorcraft for ISR, SAR and humanitarian operations.
RUAG Aviation carries out all service work as well as engineering, upgrades, system integrations and logistic management of numerous fixed wing and helicopter types.
