German company Comco Ikarus is responsible for the C42 family of high-winged, two-seat ultralights, which have achieved much success in their category both as trainers and among private owners. This aircraft is constructed of sturdy aluminium tubing with a composite cabin and fuselage shell, and can be fitted with either the 80hp or 100hp versions of the Rotax 912 powerplant. Available both as a kit or ready-made, the C42 may be used either as a glider/hang glider tug or for banner-towing. The C42B variant has slightly improved aerodynamics compared with the standard aircraft, and a wider cabin.
