Royal Air Force Red Arrows
There will be no bigger celebrations in the UK marking the Red Arrows' 50th display season than at this summer's Air Tattoo.
As well as enjoying the team's traditionally flamboyant and pinpoint precise aerobatic displays - including their trademark Diamond Nine formation - visitors can look forward to a unique, anniversary joint flypast with a distinctly international flavour.
Since forming at RAF Fairford in 1964, the Red Arrows have performed more than 4,500 displays in 55 countries, flying with a level of flair and synchronicity few other aerobatic teams have been able to match.
The team, which first displayed at the Air Tattoo in 1974, began life flying Gnat T1 trainer aircraft before switching to the Hawk T1/1A in 1980.
