All of our volunteers need to be over 18 years of age. There is no maximum age limit, although volunteers need to be reasonably fit.

This isn't a problem at all, the nearest bus and train station is in Swindon and we can arrange to collect/return you to the station. Volunteers must notify their Team Manager in advance to arrange.
We offer a Volunteer campsite with no charge, which is a popular choice. We can also provide accommodation free of charge for those volunteers who do not live locally.
Volunteer accommodation is very basic and all rooms will be on a shared basis with up to 4 people to a room. We provide the beds but you will need to bring, a single sheet, sleeping bag/duvet and a pillow. You can however choose to bring your own tent or caravan and book a place on our staff campsite.
Unfortunately due to a shortage in accommodation, volunteers will need to share on the basis of up to four to a room maximum.
Yes washroom facilities are available in all accommodation blocks and the staff campsite on a single sex shared basis.
We have a team campsite that volunteers can book to stay in your own tent, caravan or motorhome. (Not provided!)
Our accommodation is free of charge to our volunteers.
Shuttle buses will be in operation to transport volunteers to and from their workplace on the showground.
We provide three meals a day for all of our volunteers.
We can cater for all dietary requirements if we are given notice. Details of any requirements should be provided at Registration stage.
Dependent on your role volunteers may be given a polo shirt to wear whilst working at the RIAT.
The hours that we work can be long and varied but all part of the spirit! If successful in your application, please get in touch with your team manager or supervisor to discuss the timings.
We have a staff car park where all our volunteers need to park their vehicles, it is signposted from Team Reception.
All volunteers must report to Team Reception on arrival to obtain their security passes and accommodation details.
All volunteers will be sent a team arrival brief approximately six weeks before the show that contains all the information including the opening times.
Once you have completed your arrival, please drop off your belongings to your accommodation on Site 14 and then get in touch with your team manager to find out what to do next.
In the evening there is the Village Pub located on Site 14, where volunteers are able to purchase alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Food and snacks are also available.
After our show was cancelled due to heavy rain in 2008 provisions have since been made where this will not happen again.
It is the responsibility of each volunteer to ensure that they bring adequate sun protection with them.
Prior to the show, volunteers are sent a team handbook which contains a lot of very useful information to help you while you are with us. Printed copies will also be available at Team Reception.
Yes you can bring whatever you need to help you with your stay with us although the RAFCTE does not accept any responsibility for any lost/stolen personal items that volunteers may bring. It is highly recommended that volunteers bring a lockable case to store away anything they need to.
We have a dedicated Medical Centre run by volunteer trained medical staff where you can seek medical help should it be necessary.
