Trust Supports RAF Wittering Motor Club

Published: 01 Jun 2018

The RAF Charitable Trust has given £1,664 to RAF Wittering Motor Club, enabling members to purchase a special car lift.
The Trust's grant is subsidising the total cost of £2,218.80 - the remainder of which has been funded through club contribution from its 22 members, 19 of whom are military personnel.

The club hopes that the purchase of the lift will provide additional capability to improve club facilities and add incentive to retain existing members and attract new ones.

Wg Cdr Mike Ainsworth said: "The Motor Club at Wittering is a well-run, enthusiastic group, providing an outstanding facility that brings members of the station community together.

"Membership has suffered recently due to a lack of prime functionality and as such the club is in desperate need of funding to revitalise members."

Captain Richard Collins added: "The Trust grant [has] provided the means to greatly improve the facility, enabling the club to promote itself further and provide a thriving facility beneficial to all budding car DIY enthusiasts."

“It was an epic spectacle, as magical as anything you've ever seen in the West End, and as loud as anything you've ever heard at Knebworth.”
