Enriched Crew Room for 39 Squadron

Published: 29 Nov 2017

39 Squadron, based at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada has invested in much needed enrichment equipment that will benefit more than 100 personnel, thanks to a grant from the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.

Celebrating 10 years in the US this year, the squadron said little improvement had been made to their 'living' environment during that time.

The grant, totalling £2,685 has funded new sofas, outside furniture, a coffee table, bookcase, trophy cabinet and stools in their crew room which is used as a valuable facility where personnel can rest from their front-line duties.

Flt Lt Sam Haley, 39 Squadron's Adjutant, said: "The money kindly donated by the Trust is making a huge difference to our personnel.  This is the biggest range of improvements the squadron has undertaken during its time in the US. Breaks from operational flying are at a premium and the improvements allow the squadron crews to relax in a far better equipped environment than previously afforded them."

“It was an epic spectacle, as magical as anything you've ever seen in the West End, and as loud as anything you've ever heard at Knebworth.”
