Royal Air Force Air Cadets

The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust (RAFCT) has always enjoyed a strong relationship with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC). Over the years, the Trust has provided the Air Cadets with many grants and the RAFAC support us back by staging their biggest camp each year at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT). Being at RIAT gives cadets up close experiences, not only with aircraft, but also the crews and the engineers, and they are involved with many vital tasks around the show.

Providing grants for RAFAC is a key pillar as we continue to fulfil our mission to inspire young people all over the UK. The support from the RAFCT ranges from providing training equipment and Space Centre visits at the National Air And Space Camp to supporting adventurous training expeditions via the Ulysses Trust for almost 250 cadets in 2022, helping to develop teamwork and outdoor skills. We know how valuable the cadet experience can be and we're proud to make a difference.

In 2022, the first BTEC Level 2 in Space Studies was launched, developed by the RAFAC. This course is open to all 920 Air Cadet Squadrons and 220 Combined Cadet Force units across the UK. The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust is excited to support this initiative and our grant of £40,000 will help inspire cadets to learn about all things space!
