About the role:
Our Aircraft Fuels Team are responsible for the
refuelling of all aircraft participating at the Air Tattoo. The Fuels Drivers
are responsible for driving the fuel bowsers, operating the vehicle to provide
transfer of fuel, and ensuring all refuelling operations are carried out in a
safe manner.
To be considered suitably qualified and experienced to
volunteer for this role, you must be currently be employed as a fuel bowser driver,
working with aircraft at a civilian airport or military airfield.
Main Responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the refueling vehicle is serviceable prior to use·
- Ensuring the fuel (within the vehicle) is checked before starting refueling (first refuel of the day) and after bulking or post defuel·
- Operating the refueling vehicle in a safe manner·
- Ensuring the aircraft / equipment refueling task is carried out safely (shared responsibility with the shotgun)·
- Positioning all equipment required for the refuel to ensure the crew / pilot can connect the hose to the aircraft·
- Ensuring that the transfer of fuel is carried out in accordance with procedure
What commitment is required?
- Arrival at Fairford on Tuesday
- Working Wednesday to Monday
- Departure from Fairford on Monday evening or Tuesday morning
