Park and View
As there are no suitable parking facilities on the public highways and pedestrian walkways surrounding RAF Fairford, the Park and View enclosures are provided for your safety and convenience. The two Park and View enclosures (East and West) are open from 7.30am Wednesday 12 July and Thursday 13 July inclusive, and again on Monday 17 July.
On Friday 14, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July access to this viewing paddock area will only be available with an Air Tattoo Admission ticket. It will be open when the showground is (from 7.30am) to allow additional viewing areas for those attending the show.
Please be aware that the grass length in the enclosure may be longer than experienced in previous years (at least 7 inches). The reasoning behind this is due to the need to improve the effectiveness of our bird deterrence and in-turn reduce the chances of bird-strikes. Short grass is attractive to birds so the adoption of a long-grass regime is a very effective airfield bird deterrent. It spoils their habitat by restricting their vision at ground level, thus reducing their security, and also by considerably restricting their access to food sources in the soil.
Park and View includes:
- Free Parking (opens at 6.00am)
- Free admission for under 16s
- Disabled Parking
- A stepladder enclosure within Park and View East
